Abstract
In his analysis of the debates and polemics surrounding relations between Poles and Jews during the Second World War, Antony Polonsky concludes that the goal of scholars today should be to encourage scholarship based on a wide range of sources, from a variety of points of view and in different locations. This, he feels, will ultimately make it possible to integrate the history of the Holocaust into the larger issue of the successes and failures of Jewish integration in the history of Europe and will strengthen civic society and democratic values.
