Synaptic Conductance Gastric Mill Electrical Coupling Verbal Model Canonical Model
The gastric mill rhythm in the stomatogastric ganglion (STG) of the crab Cancer borealis is a network-generated oscillation with a period of 7 to 15 s. This rhythm can be elicited by tonic stimulation of modulatory commisural neuron 1 (MCNI)1. At the heart of the circuit (Figure 1 A) is a half-center oscillator, consisting of the lateral gastric neuron (LG) and interneuron 1 (Int1).
