Abstract
In this volume, we have tried to demonstrate through our personal experiences how religious and critical readings of the Bible can coexist. We feel that such a synthesis is both compelling and necessary, given the widely recognized developments in biblical criticism and the sincere commitments we each have toward our respective religious traditions.
