Abstract
In the midst of atrocities, how can business rise to the challenge of heroism against all odds? Whether the focus is on corporate leaders at the top or the bottom of organizations, whether their call is duty or necessity, how can the responsibility to protect become their fundamental mission in drastic circumstances, trumping business as usual and making the impossible possible – saving lives? How can corporations learn from their behaviors in order to build the right teams, teams that will adjust based on lessons learned, put the right processes in place to prevent future incidents, and perform reliably to the best of their ability in emergency situations?
