Abstract
For Hebrew language educators teaching outside of Israel, the events of October 7 marked a defining moment and a critical test of their roles and responsibilities. These educators experienced a significant shift, transforming from providers of Hebrew language education in an Israeli cultural context to professionals focused on interpreting and conveying Israel’s new and complex reality to learners and their communities. Language education has undergone numerous transformations over the years, but our research brings to the surface the importance of the shift toward the integration of Israeli cultural instruction as a core component of Hebrew language teaching.
