Abstract
The panel will describe how one small health foundation built a system of accountability based on an established evaluation model. In collaboration with seasoned evaluators, The Health Foundation of Central Massachusetts (THFCM) developed a Results-Oriented Grantmaking and Grant-Implementation (ROGG) system which is based on the same accountability questions as the Getting to Outcomes (GTO) model of planning and accountability. Evaluators can provide valuable input to new funders, such as a health conversion foundation or those interested in social finance models, who work toward sustained outcomes that come from systems change. THFCM staff will share the system of accountability folllowed by project staff/evaluator (Dr. Brolin) that have worked on several projects and contributes data for collaborative decision making. Objective input about the model including conclusions and indicators of success will be presented by an outside consultant who published as case study about THFCM's grantmaking.
