Abstract
For a history and background of this violoncello, see links below.
The dataset includes:
- DICOM CT data folders for the cello body, at resolutions 100% (68GB), and also 2.2%, 5%, 10%, 30%, and 50%.
- DICOM CT data folders for the cello neck and scroll at 100% (19GB), and also 2.2%.
- STL files for the body, and for the neck at scroll.
- PDF files for a geometric reconstruction of the rib outline (inside, from the internal mold), with arching templates based on the CT data and on more generic information in Simone Sacconi's "The 'Secrets' of Stradivari." These drawings are dimensioned for a proportionally reduced instrument, where the diapason is reduced from 417mm to 400mm. The bout width dimensions revert to those like the Stradivari 'forma B' violoncellos, except for a slightly shorter lower bout.
Access to the dataset is by permission only, granted by writing to digitalamati.library@gmail.com. The request must be made with an attestation that the request is for personal use only, and not to be sent to anyone else. This constraint is to keep an approximate record of who has use of the data. Abrogations will only compromise the status of the digital library.
