Abstract
Burt gives an interpretation of the poem Uncertain Season in High Country, one of the last poems written by Robert Penn Warren. Continuous revision and rethinking was always a part of Warren's way of writing, and a shade of self-doubt about the existing text must have been part of his habit of being as a poet.
