Abstract

Superconductivity
We adopted a recursion method for solving the Bogoliubov-de Gennes equations for inhomogeneous superconductors described by a Hubbard model with attractive, negative U, electron-electron interaction. We illustrate it with results for a negative U impurity in a non-interacting host. We find that the existence of a solution with non-zero local pairing amplitude depends crucially on the details of the model.
