Abstract

Courtship Animals Entomology - methods Drosophila - physiology
Unsuccessful courtship reduces subsequent courtship behavior of male Drosophila. This experience-dependent behavior modification is called courtship conditioning and has been one of the major paradigms used to study learning and memory in Drosophila. This article describes a basic behavioral assay for quantifying short-term memory of courtship suppression induced by training with a mated female.
