Abstract

The dlhydrodioxln-Fp complex2b(Fp=( -C5H5)Fe(CO)2) adds a broad range of nucleophiles to give optically active adducts 4 in which nucleophile and Fp group are diaxial. These may be converted to optically active Fp (?j2-vinylether) or Fp (r?2-alkene)cations of defined absolute configuration.
