Abstract
Experiments have been carried out to assess the influence of temperature on the behavior of a minimal brómate oscillator(Br03~-Br"-Mn2+inacontinuouslystirredtankreactor).The results are compared with calculations performed by using the NFT mechanism supplemented by a plausible set of activation energies. The oscillatory range is found to be extremely sensitive to the values of certain rate constants, some of which do not significantly influence the domain of bistability. The agreement between the experimental and calculated amplitude and period as functions of temperature is quite good.
