Abstract
Spring is coming, and that means that summer is right around the corner. And summer means... Conclave! This year you won't have to wait quite so long for Conclave to come around, because we are meeting one week earlier than usual: from July 13 to 20. We will be returning to Oxford, Ohio, where Miami University has provided us with such excellent accommodations in the past. For our theme this year, we will be Dancing with the Stars, focusing on the many types of dances that dwell at the heard of our music, and on the "stars" who wrote our favorite pieces. Our classes will range from medieval and Renaissance dances to Baroque suites, and explore the springing rhythms that enliven many fantasias. And we'll seek out the stars (and the lesser lights) in our compositional firmament.
