Abstract

Legal issues that affect efforts by federal and state agencies to protect groundwater Quality are discussed. The nature of groundwater and groundwater pollution is considered. The legal framework on which groundwater pollution control should be based is analyzed. A coordinated control policy based on an understanding of the geological, socioeconomic, and environmental influences on groundwater Quality is needed.
