In this review, the controllable synthesis of linear, hyperbranched and cross-linked ferrocene-based polymers are reviewed, and the applications of ferrocene-based polymer as precursor to prepare magnetic ceramics, carbon nanotubes and as photo-cross-linkable polymers in lithography are introduced.
