Abstract

Industrial Societies Social Institutions Theoretical Problems United States of America Violence Work Organization
Reversing the pervasive violence in human relations on interpersonal, intergroup, & global levels depends on identifying & eradicating sources in social institutions. Here, the violence dynamics of contemporary capitalism in the US & other industrialized countries are examined. A redefinition & a reorganization of work are proposed, involving unconditional rights to work & to a fair share of income, & aimed at reversing vicious circles of violence & counterviolence. 27 References.
