Sex Behavior Mutants in Drosophila

Bioscience, Vol.31(2), pp.125-130

Abstract

Drosophila reproductive behavior circadian rhythmicity
Courtship in Drosophila has been studied using mutations. Some of these variants define genes that appear to be involved in specific steps of the stereotyped actions of courtship. Other mutations that affect reproductive behavior have visual or olfactory defects. Mutants with abnormalities of higher functions reveal connections among courtship, learning, and circadian rhythmicity.
