Abstract
Cryptomelane-type manganese oxide octahedral molecular sieve(OMS-2) for VOCs catalytic combustion is synthesized by solvent-free solid-state and refluxing synthesis methods. XRD, FE-SEM, O(2)-TPD-Ms and H(2)-TPR techniques are applied to characterize the structure morphology and surface oxygen properties of the sieve catalysts. The results indicate that the catalytic activity of OMS-2 is demanded on the oxygen species in the catalytic combustion of toluene and formaldehyde. The activity for toluene catalytic combustion depends obviously on the surface properties of OMS-2 and the amount of oxygen species, and beta oxygen species mainly contribute to the catalytic combustion of small-size formaldehyde molecule.
