1. The intracellular pH of the blood cells of the tunicate
Boltenia ovifera was determined using the intracellular-extracellular distribution of a weak base.

2. For blood with a plasma pH of 7.14, an average intracellular pH of 7.19 ± 0.15 was obtained using this method.
