World economy, Vol.18(4), pp.S173-189

Abstract

Developing countries Economic policy International trade Reports
Trade policy in developing countries has changed significantly from their former protectionist nature to one characterized by liberalization. The most dramatic transformation can be seen in Latin America. The region is fast approaching the trade liberalization stage attained by the newly industrialized countries of East Asia. On the other hand, Africa has shown little sign of trade reform.
