  In an article for children, Golden and Houston discuss the history of the excavations at Piedras Negras, specifically, at the pyramid known as K-5 and at a sweat bath known as Building P-7. One method used by an excavation team involved in the 1930s excavation team involved stripping away trees and vegetation, a practice that is no longer permitted.
