Abstract
From fall 2019 through spring 2022, I gave monthly or bi-monthly lectures to graduate students of the Tianjin Juilliard Orchestra on their upcoming orchestral programs. I prepared lecture transcripts, playlists, and powerpoint presentations. Each lecture focused on a broad theme connecting the repertoire of a given concert. Focus on each piece included historical background, analytical perspectives, rehearsal preparedness suggestions, and where applicable, discussions of performance practice.
For the purposes of the 2022-23 Brandeis Faculty Annual Review, I am including the spring '22 window of such lectures.
