The nation’s oldest town-gown choral society offers transformative musical experiences through the performance of major choral-orchestral works, both old and new. The fall concert centers on a masterwork by Brahms that reveals his deepest feelings about life and death, established him as a composer of major stature and linked two of the most important spheres of his lifelong musical endeavor, the vocal and the symphonic.
