Abstract
Honorary patrons are Roger Beaulieu, Fernand Bibeau, Marc Bruneau, Rene Buisson, former Italian ambassador Paolo Fulci, Michel Gaucher, Morrie Gelfand, Andre Gingras, Jean-Paul Gourdeau, Normand Grimand, Claude Guerin, Normand Hebert, Joseph Husny, Bernard Lamarre, Charles Lussier, Alain Paris, Fred Pechet, Pierre Peladeau and Philippe Roberge. Dr. Jack Cohen, the plastic surgeon, will give a whistling performance; Sun Yu, of the Baltimore Peabody Conservatory of Music, will sing baritone solos; Marc Zhang, concert master of the Beijing Opera, will play his Er-Hu, a two-stringed Chinese violin, and Liao Chong, a piano virtuoso from Germany, will perform Chinese and classical selections. The Spanish and Portuguese Synagogue, in celebration of Jewish Music Month, is holding a concert on Sunday, at 8 p.m. in the synagogue's Mashaal Sanctuary, 5455 Lemieux Ave., when the guest artist will be classical guitarist Peter McCutcheon, a professor at McGill University and the Universite de Montreal. Mr. McCutcheon has given numerous recitals in Europe and North America.
