Abstract
A transcript of an interview with Isabelle Lambert by Leigh Swigart and David P. Briand. The interview took place on May 27, 2015 at The Hague, Netherlands, and the transcript, which is represented here, has been reviewed and edited from the original audio version. During the interview, Lambert reminisces on informality of early days at the Tribunal; effect of the American "gratis personnel" on the development of the Tribunal; details of the transfer of Tadić; the effect of the Tadić Case on the Tribunal in organizing the indictment of Milošević; the response by the Tribunal after the death of Milošević; impressions of working under Prosecutor Carla del Ponte, and the difference of working in the tribunal under President Theodor Meron. Lambert also discusses difference of working at Tribunal in contrast to the United Nations; logistics of setting up Tribunal offices and courtrooms; psychological effects of the proceedings on interpreters, and elements of continued responsibilities of the Dutch Government.
