Abstract
In any painter’s working life, the studio plays a central part, both reflecting and influencing the work produced within its walls. At some point, many an artist even turns the studio into the explicit subject matter of a painting, capturing its interior spaces and paraphernalia as illuminated by a very particular light. Such a work provides a unique insight into the artist’s working process.
For My Studio, the artists of Zeuxis have turned their eyes to their own studio spaces, affording intimate glimpses of the environments that nurture and influence their lives as painters.
Founded in 1994 in New York City, Zeuxis is an association of painters devoted to exploring the possibilities of the traditional genre of still life painting in the twentieth-first century.
