Abstract
I gave a presentation on my upcoming solo album "The Road" for students and faculty at BU's Composer Forum. I played samples of each track from my album and discussed the main themes of the album: preserving US-China artistic dialogue, recognizing the variety within music written by Chinese-speaking composers, and exploring interactions between music and language when music is composed by a speaker of a tonal language.
