Abstract
Help, Opportunities, and Programs for Jewish Elders: An Action Guide for Synagogues offers hundreds of programming ideas, resource information, and program models that show congregations how to move from planning to implementing successful programs for older adults. Program models were identified through a national search that included a survey sent to 1,500 synagogues and extensive networking with volunteers and professionals involved in aging services. The guide covers eight programmatic areas: assessing needs, preparing caregivers, making the synagogue accessible, assisting with daily life, exercising the mind, building community, expanding the spirit, and celebrating our elders.
