Abstract
The 2024-25 Orange County Jewish Demographic Study provides a snapshot of today’s Jewish population in Orange County, CA and considers trends and developments in Jewish life and engagement. This study is based on an analysis of a rich set of data collected from 1,328 eligible households between November 2024 and March 2025. The study found a community of 93,500 Jewish individuals, representing 3% of Orange County’s population. A unique focus of this study is on political views, and the study found that Jewish residents of Orange County included a larger share of Democrats than the general Orange County population, but a smaller share than among all US Jews. Cost of living is a growing concern to the community. Although many Jewish households in Orange County are financially comfortable, 7% report they cannot make ends meet, and another 25% report they are just managing to make ends meet. Cost of living is likely to be a primary driver of decisions to move away from Orange County.
