Abstract
In 2010, Brandeis University’s Summer Institute for Israel Studies (SIIS) conducted its seventh
two-week seminar and Israel study tour for college and university professors. Reports on the
first six cohorts (2004-2009) document wide-ranging positive outcomes. The program has
attracted participants from around the world from many disciplines and study areas, prepared
them to teach about Israel in their fields, and supported their growth as a community of
scholars. In turn, these developments have expanded the number of course offerings and the
number of students learning about Israel.
