Abstract
The Summer Institute for Israel Studies (SIIS), organized by the Schusterman Center for Israel Studies at Brandeis University, is a one-of-a-kind program designed to equip scholars to engage in quality teaching and research about Israel. The Cohen Center for Modern Jewish Studies (CMJS) has conducted annual surveys of SIIS alumni since the program’s inception. This report provides results of the annual alumni survey for Fellows from cohorts 2004-19, gathered throughout the summer and fall of 2021.The report explores Fellows’ professional positions and activities related to Israel during the 2020-21 academic year, including courses offered, work with students, research and publications, and other opportunities to share and utilize their knowledge of Israel. Also included are findings related to the impact of COVID-19 on academic activities. Finally, the report examines the enduring connections to SIIS, including the connections to other alumni and the use of resources provided by the Schusterman Center.
