Unfixed Concrete Ideal addresses the wonderful contradictions of concrete in both its formless fluidity and fixed rigidity. In some spaces, concrete can be seen as a modern and democratic material, while in others it can be quite hostile and oppressive. In many ways, concrete itself represents the ideals of the modern era, but also how incomplete those ideals often became. Works from this show represent a range of artists and educators nationally and internationally, bringing their unique perspectives towards this material and its social impact.
