Abstract
This course is designed to help emerging Jewish professionals understand the most important topics and
questions about Israel and their impact on world Jewry. Students will survey the history of Zionism and
Israel with a focus on questions that remain alive in contemporary conversations about Israel. Students
will also engage in case studies that highlight different understandings of the Israeli‐Palestinian conflict,
religion and state in Israel, and Israeli politics. Through this course, students will be provided with tools
and paradigms to help them navigate these topics through their work as Jewish professionals.
