Abstract
Sociology of Israeli Culture and Development Models is designed to give students brief exposure to international sociological studies. The course examines Israeli historical background, family and social organization formats, cultural attributes, and in particular, the development model(s) adopted in Israeli, that has contributed to the impressive development trajectory of Israel despite her natural resource deficits and challenges posed by Arab-Israeli conflict among others.
As a comparative cultural study, the course will make several references to Nigerian society in an attempt to compare and contrast how each nation (Israel and Nigeria) respond to her religious, ethnic, natural, socioeconomic and governance challenges. The course will also examine possibilities of cultural diffusions, technological transfers or adoption, between Israel and Nigeria, as well as articulate appropriate foreign relation ties that will mutually benefit both nations.
