Scholarship and Biography

As an organic chemist by training, I am most interested in learning how student attitudes evolve during the typical sophomore-level, two-semester organic chemistry course sequence. By discovering effective methods to challenge misconceptions about physical science, we can help foster diversity in the science community, particularly for underrepresented groups. Furthermore, by teaching organic chemistry from a mechanistic perspective, with an appropriate emphasis on practical and life-science applications, I seek to help students develop general problem-solving skills.
