Scholarship and Biography
I hold a B.A. in Economics and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Bahcesehir University, graduating with honors as the third-ranked student in my department and receiving magna cum laude distinction. During my academic journey, I gained practical experience through an internship at the Ministry of Economy of Turkey and earned a certificate from the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey.
My academic pursuit continued with an M.A. in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis. Following my studies, I embarked on a professional journey as a Research Analyst at The Conference Board from 2019 to 2022. In this role, I was responsible for preparing The Conference Board Leading Economic Index (LEI) for various global economies, including the Global Economy, Euro Area, the UK, Germany, France, South Korea, and Mexico. Analyzing these indices provided valuable insights into future trends in business, markets, and the economy. My research report "War in Ukraine: A View from Turkey," was released in May 2022. My scholarly pursuits extended to presenting a paper titled "Euro Area Leading Economic Index Redux: Predicting Euro Area Business Cycles (Is the sum greater than the sum of its parts?)" at the 36th CIRET Conference in 2022.
The same year, I embarked on a Ph.D. journey in International Economics and Finance at Brandeis University. As part of my academic responsibilities, I taught "Introduction to Microeconomics" and facilitated the "Oral Communication in Economics Practicum."
