Scholarship and Biography

Lucy Goodhart's research considers central issues in political economy. Her current project links partisan polarization to congressional campaign resources and uses variation across districts in party strength and media costs to explain the initial rise of polarization in the 1980's. Separate research projects engage with the international economy, looking at the effect of demographic change on the real exchange rate and seeking to explain the disparity between women and men in preferences for trade.
