Scholarship and Biography

I am a developmental cognitive neuroscientist and use a wide variety of techniques - EEG, eye tracking, behavior - to address how atypical development affects visual perception and cognition. I have conducted research with congenitally deaf individuals for many years with the goal of understanding how deafness changes visual functions in order to adapt to the absence of auditory input. More recently I have studied individuals with intellectual disabilities and individuals on the autism spectrum to better understand what factors affect their visual perception and attention.
