Abstract
This year, Brandeis brings its winter holiday concert to you. Instead of gathering in the Shapiro Campus Center, we invite you to sing along at home and enjoy a few new additions to the beloved holiday tradition in Zoom webinar format.
Vice President of Student Affairs Raymond Lu-Ming Ou will welcome you and introduce the main event, the singing of selections* from Handel's Messiah (1742). A 15-minute video recorded at last year's holiday concert has been captioned with words and music so that you can sing along.
After the Hallelujah chorus, join host Deborah Rosenstein (Music) and Reverend Matt Carriker (Center for Spiritual Life) for carols singing (including some Hanukkah songs). Children from the Lemberg Children's Center will offer a special song they've written about snow! Joanna Marcus '22 will show you how to make paper snowflakes. And very special guest Phoebe Jeebies aka Jason Dick '14 will give a holiday baking demonstration!
While we're sad that we can't be together this year, we hope you will enjoy sharing the experience with your loved ones. So warm up your favorite beverage, get cozy, and join the chorus!
Presented by the Department of Music, Arts Engagement, and the Center for Spiritual Life.
With members of the Brandeis University Chorus, Brandeis Chamber Singers and Brandeis-Wellesley Orchestra under the direction of Neal Hampton, associate professor of the practice of music.
Program: And the glory of the Lord, For unto us a child is born, Glory to God, and Hallelujah
