Scholarship and Biography
Carole Carlson is Professor of the Practice at Brandeis University and was formerly Director of the Heller Social Impact MBA Program. At Heller, she designed and teaches courses in Leadership, Strategic Management, Social Entrepreneurship, and Team Consulting as well as executive courses in strategy and entrepreneurship.
She also teaches and coaches executives, including contributing as a faculty member in Brandeis’ blended learning Executive MBA for practicing physicians. Carole is co-Chair of the Heller Committee on teaching excellence and a leader in developing and implementing effective teaching practices. She is a past Davis Teaching and Learning Fellow, and in 2019 was selected to receive both the Heller teaching award, the Executive MBA Teaching award at Brandeis and two teaching excellence awards from Tufts Medical School, where she also holds an appointment as an Adjunct Lecturer.
Prior to teaching at Brandeis, Carole was a Principal with the Parthenon Group where she advised the leadership teams of Fortune 500 organizations in multiple sectors to help them develop and implement winning strategies.
She is the author of numerous publications in the areas of entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship and multiple published case studies. In her spare time she mentors young entrepreneurs, many of whom are Heller MBAs, to help them grow their organizations.
