Scholarship and Biography

A former student at the École normale supérieure (Ulm) and an agrégée de lettres modernes, Clémentine Fauré-Bellaïche holds a Phd in French Literature from Yale University. She is an Assistant Professor in French and Francophone Studies at Brandeis University, where she specializes in 20th- and 21st-century French and Francophone literature. Her first book, A "Protestant Air" - Gide, Sartre, Barthes, and The Religion of Literary Modernity, will be released on June 15, 2026 at Cornell University Press .
