Scholarship and Biography

The Hedstrom laboratory operates at the interface between chemistry and biology. Current projects address problems in antibiotic development, targeted protein degradation, mechanistic enzymology and mTOR signaling. This work involves a wide array of experimental techniques, including enzyme kinetics, site-directed mutagenesis, organic synthesis, protein and RNA biochemistry, crystallography and various spectroscopic methods.
