Scholarship and Biography

Maya Eden is an Associate Professor of Economics at Brandeis University and an affiliate of the Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and the Global Priorities Institute. She is a co-organizer of the virtual seminar series Normative Economics and Economic Policy, and an Associate Editor of the Review of Economic Dynamics. At Brandeis, she is also affiliated with the International Business School and with the Institute for Economic and Racial Equity at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management.


Prior to joining the economics department in the Fall of 2017, she worked as an economist in the Macroeconomics and Growth Team of the Development Economics Research Group at the World Bank.


Her primary research areas are welfare economics and macroeconomics. Her current research focuses on the development of tools for normative analysis of macroeconomic policies.
